More than a trip — a friendship.

As first-time visitors to Japan, we were nervous about the language barrier and finding authentic experiences. Through the matching site, we met our guide who spoke excellent English and understood exactly what we wanted—food, history, and culture. They not only guided us through must-see spots like Asakusa and Shibuya, but also introduced us to their favorite izakaya where we had the best meal of our trip. The whole experience felt personal, warm, and unforgettable. We came away with not just memories but also a new friend in Japan.

What I loved most about my trip was having a guide who felt more like a friend than just someone showing us around. Coming from New Zealand, this was my very first time visiting Oita, and the experience was absolutely unforgettable. Our guide arranged not only a visit to the famous hot springs but also a kimono dressing tour. It was such a unique chance to slip into beautiful traditional clothing and learn the meaning behind each detail. Walking through the streets in kimono, with the guide explaining the history and customs, made me feel completely immersed in Japanese culture.
