Welcome to FrienTrip. By using our website and services, you (“you,” “Guest,” or “Friend”) agree to the following Terms of Use. Please read them carefully before accessing or using the platform.


1. About FrienTrip

FrienTrip provides an online platform where travelers (“Guests”) can share their travel preferences, and local hosts or guides (“Friends”) can propose itineraries and services. FrienTrip acts as a facilitator between Guests and Friends.


2. Eligibility

  • You must be at least 18 years old to use FrienTrip.
  • By registering, you confirm that the information you provide is true and accurate.

3. Role of FrienTrip

  • FrienTrip is not a travel agency. We do not operate tours or provide transportation, accommodation, or insurance.
  • We connect Guests and Friends and facilitate communication and payment.
  • Each Friend is an independent service provider, responsible for their own conduct, accuracy of itineraries, and delivery of services.

4. Guest Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate travel details (dates, locations, preferences).
  • Review itineraries carefully before confirming.
  • Make timely payments through Stripe.
  • Comply with local laws and regulations while traveling.

5. Friend Responsibilities

  • Submit itineraries in the FrienTrip format with clear pricing.
  • Deliver services as agreed upon with the Guest.
  • Respond to Guest inquiries within the platform.
  • Maintain professionalism and respect at all times.

6. Payments & Fees

  • Guests pay through Stripe. Payments are securely held until trip completion.
  • FrienTrip charges a 20% service fee included in the displayed total.
  • Upon completion of the trip, Friends receive 90% of their proposed fee (minus applicable processing charges).
  • FrienTrip is not responsible for currency conversion costs or bank fees.

7. Cancellations & Refunds

  • Cancellation and refund terms are outlined in our Cancellation Policy (separate document).
  • In case of disputes, FrienTrip will review the situation but cannot guarantee refunds if services were partially delivered.

8. Conduct & Prohibited Use

Users agree not to:

  • Post false, misleading, or fraudulent information.
  • Use the platform for illegal purposes.
  • Harass, abuse, or harm other users.
  • Circumvent the platform by arranging services or payments outside FrienTrip.

9. Liability Disclaimer

  • FrienTrip is not responsible for accidents, injuries, losses, or damages arising during trips arranged through the platform.
  • Friends are independent providers, and Guests assume all travel-related risks.
  • FrienTrip’s liability is limited to the amount of service fees paid by the Guest.

10. Intellectual Property

  • All content on FrienTrip (logos, design, text, features) is owned by FrienTrip and protected by copyright.
  • Users may not copy, modify, or distribute content without prior written permission.

11. Termination

  • We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
  • Users may delete their account at any time by contacting us.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of [insert applicable country, e.g., Japan or USA]. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.


13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the platform after updates means you accept the revised Terms.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

We understand that plans can change. This policy explains how cancellations and refunds work on FrienTrip.


1. Guest Cancellations

  • More than 7 days before the trip: Full refund (minus service fees and Stripe transaction fees).
  • 3–7 days before the trip: 50% refund of the Friend’s fee (service fee non-refundable).
  • Less than 3 days before the trip: No refund (Friend’s time has already been reserved).

2. Friend Cancellations

  • If a Friend cancels after a booking is confirmed, the Guest will receive a full refund (including service fee).
  • Friends who repeatedly cancel may be suspended from the platform.

3. No-Shows

  • If a Guest does not show up, no refund will be issued.
  • If a Friend does not show up, the Guest will receive a full refund.

4. Force Majeure (Unforeseen Events)

In cases of natural disasters, strikes, government restrictions, or other circumstances beyond control, FrienTrip will work with both parties to find a fair solution (refund, reschedule, or credit).


5. Refund Process

  • Refunds are processed back to the Guest’s original payment method via Stripe.
  • Depending on your bank, it may take 5–10 business days for funds to appear.


Code of Conduct & Safety Guidelines

FrienTrip is built on trust and respect. To ensure safe and enjoyable experiences, both Guests and Friends agree to follow these guidelines:


1. Respect & Professionalism

  • Treat everyone with courtesy and respect.
  • No discrimination, harassment, or offensive behavior.
  • Communicate clearly and politely.

2. Accuracy & Honesty

  • Guests: Provide truthful details about travel preferences, group size, and expectations.
  • Friends: Provide accurate itineraries, pricing, and service descriptions.

3. Safety First

  • Comply with all local laws and safety regulations.
  • Avoid unsafe activities or locations.
  • In case of emergency, contact local authorities immediately.

4. Communication

  • Use FrienTrip’s platform for all initial communication.
  • Do not request or offer payment outside FrienTrip.
  • Share updates promptly if plans change.

5. Reliability

  • Guests: Arrive on time and respect agreed schedules.
  • Friends: Be punctual and prepared.

6. Trust & Community

  • Leave honest reviews after each trip to help others.
  • Report any misconduct to FrienTrip support.
  • Remember: FrienTrip is about connecting people and creating positive experiences.

Violations

  • Serious or repeated violations may result in account suspension or removal.
  • FrienTrip reserves the right to investigate and take appropriate action to keep the community safe.
